'Food Fight!' Amateur Chef Competition


Entrants to the Amateur Chef Competition must email their names to connemaramusselfest@gmail.com.

You have to produce one plate of an original mussel inspired recipe.

You must bring your ingredients (mussels and basic seasonings will be supplied) and cooking utensils with you on the day (suggestion – time is at a premium so do whatever prep you can beforehand).

Closing date for receipt of entries is 28th April 2017.

Please arrive in good time for the competition which is at 3.30pm on Saturday 29th April.

'Apprentice turns Master!' Junior Masterchef Competition

Closing date for entries to the Junior Masterchef competition has been extended to Wednesday 26th April.

To enter the Junior Masterchef competition you must submit your recipe via e-mail to: juniormusselcomp@gmail.com.

Entrants must write a short paragraph about their dish, telling the story of why they chose the dish and where the ingredients were sourced.

Dishes must be inspired by the Wild Atlantic Way and use locally sourced ingredients.

Competition open to 12-15 year olds.

Bake Off Competition

There are 3 categories in the Bake-Off Competition:

  • Brown Soda Bread
  • Scones
  • Tarts

Get your baking done at home and bring your entries to the Marquee between 12.30 and 1pm on Sunday 30th April.

National Schools Competition

Over the past few weeks the children from the 4 local National Schools: Tully, Eagles Nest, Lettergesh and Letterfrack have been busy preparing their entries for this year’s competitions. The older children will write a poem and the younger ones make a picture – the theme being the Wild Atlantic Way. The children’s work will be displayed in the Artisan Market over the weekend and the prize giving will take place in the Marquee on Saturday afternoon.
